This term refers to ebooks that have interactive elements or multimedia content, like audio and video. Media additions are possible with today’s technology.
Which formats are used for publishing ebooks?
MOBI (Kindle), HTML, PDF, and ePub 3. Print copies in full color are also offered. Every one of our ebook formats has embedded multimedia as standard and is media enhanced.
Is it possible to edit an ebook?
Indeed, we publish edited, single-author, and multi-author ebooks.
What’s the length of the ebooks?
Depending on the Collection you are submitting to, books can be as short as 80 pages or as long as several hundred pages. For precise page length restrictions, see our Collection pages.
What is the sales model for ebooks?
Since we don’t impose a concurrent user limit, book collections come with perpetual access and are DRM-free, making them ideal for students to use on any device, around the clock! Ebooks are primarily sold in collections to academic and corporate research institutes where subscribers can download an electronic version of the book as part of their subscription! Additionally, Amazon and other online retailers sell them in print and electronic format.
How do writers and editors get paid?
The exact costs are determined by the book and are paid in installments upon contract signing, acceptance of the manuscript, and publication.
Can my ebook have multimedia components?
Indeed, as long as it enhances the content, we do in fact support the inclusion of multimedia throughout our ebooks. These can be anything from interactive figures and animations with embedded video clips to author webinars, lectures, and video abstracts. When feasible, multimedia is supported in all of our digital publication formats (ePub3, PDF, HTML, and MOBI) and integrated into the book itself to improve the reading experience for readers. For additional information on how to prepare these files, please refer Author Handbook.
What kind of assistance can I expect when my ebook is published?
Numerous support resources are available on these pages as well, to assist you in managing your ebook submission. If that’s not enough, we also have a team specifically focused on handling customer service inquiries related to ebooks.
Does reading eBooks require any specific hardware or software?
All you need is the free Reader software and your computer, laptop, or portable device. Three different formats are available for our eBooks: online reader, EPUB download, and PDF download. Other than an internet browser, our Online Reader doesn’t require any software. Following your purchase, you will receive a link to download the necessary Reader software at no cost to you.
Why is it necessary for me to authorize my reader, and how do I do that?
You must first Authorize your Reader software before downloading any secure Adobe DRM-protected eBooks. Authorization is a security measure to safeguard the ebook’s copyright and certifies you as its legitimate owner.
Can I make copies and print my ebooks?
Certain ebooks have DRM security settings that make printing and copying them impossible or very difficult. These are determined by the publisher and differ for the same ebook in different formats as well as between ebooks. By selecting the “Print & copy permissions” link located beneath the “Add to cart” button on the ebook product page, you can examine the security settings associated with each title.
Is it possible to download eBooks to a portable device?
Generally speaking, yes. The operating system your handheld device is running will determine this, though, because different eBook formats work with various operating systems. See our device guide for comprehensive details on which eBook formats work with your portable device.
